Learn the fundamentals of the Alla Prima oil painting method made famous by John Singer Sargent and Richard Schmid, and many others.

In this one-night workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of oil painting, what gear, materials, paints and solvents you will need, and the fundamentals of the Alla Prima oil painting method, which lets us paint an entire painting in one session.

We will break down the “scary” stigmas of oil painting and make it easy to understand, and answer questions of why choose oil painting, and it’s pros and cons compared to other media, and you will leave with an understanding of how to paint a simple painting from start to finish in one sitting.

Artists are encouraged to bring their own reference image for this workshop.

All materials are included in price, but you may feel free to bring your own materials if you prefer. All skill levels welcome.
